Cantrip
(can trip)

A cantrip
can trip you,
trick you,
put you under a spell,
and silence your yell.
It's magic used tragically,
slick witchy trickery -
like the apple Snow White nipped,
that one bite slip,
a deadly cantrip.

Every week I rhyme and define a new wacky word.
Come on over to indulge your inner nerd.
And, please let me know of any weird words you've heard.
loved it.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Is my poem a cantrip? :P
DeleteAnd here I thought a "Cantrip" was what you get if you wear shoes with no laces and always make sure to walk on smooth surfaces ;D
ReplyDeleteHehehe. I like your sense of humor. :P
DeleteI knew this from many early years playing D&D.
ReplyDeleteI figured someone would. I didn't play D&D growing up but learned this word was used in the game while writing this poem. :)
DeleteYou never would have guessed me for a gaming nerd, would you? LOL
DeleteA can trip can trip you up--or down in Snow White's case ;-) Love your poem:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks! :-)
