Bloviate
by Rachel Hoyt
Politicians sometimes bloviate,
because they think that their ideas are great,
and boast of them when they orate,
and elaborate but don't deviate
as they spout slogans and stories to which we relate...
I'll stop here before I bloviate.

Every week I
rhyme and define a new wacky word.
Come on over to indulge your inner
nerd.
And, please
let me know of any weird words you've heard.
Bloviate! So it is like blowing your own trumpet, right?
ReplyDeleteGood one, Rachel.

DeleteGreat one, Rachel, as always!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Thank you, Martha! Blessings to you. :)
DeleteI know I've heard that one before. Can't remember where though.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you were bloviating and someone told you to cut it out? :P j/k
DeleteGood Evening, Rachel,
ReplyDeleteNever heard this one before, but I guess it's what the politicians and world leaders all do! (Lol) Nice one! Hope you had a lovely time at the wedding...it'll be YOU next time (smile). Enjoy the rest of the week.
The Idealists Of The World
Thank you Andy! I couldn't help but think of the politicians when I heard that word, but I do believe there was some bloviating happenning at the wedding last weekend too. LOL. :)
DeleteEnjoy YOUR week! :)
hahaha. I've been sitting here reading and doing homework for a poli sci class. Oh, so boring! I appreciated a lighter look at our politicians, so thanks for that. ;-)
ReplyDeleteHehehe. Good timing, eh? You were reading a bunch of bloviation and you didn't even know it! :)
DeleteSo, if they drool or spit when orating would that be "slobbloviate?" I love these new words--fun poem! :-)
ReplyDeleteHaha. I love that you keep making new words with my wacky words. Slobbloviate... good one! :)
DeleteI used to think bloviate was something I did after eating a couple of microwavable burritos.
ReplyDeleteLOL! That is a really funny interpretation. Isn't it amazing what you THINK something means when you don't know? :)
DeleteUgh bloviators, maybe they should stop by here then at least they'd have some interesting words to bloviate with :)
ReplyDeleteTee hee. :) Thanks Mark! I do try not to discriminate against bloviators. :)
DeleteThis was fun! I enjoyed your humor!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary. :)
DeleteFun! You can bloviate about this one Rachel!!!
ReplyDeleteWell thank you! I try not to bloviate without permission. :)
DeleteHa! That was a fun one!
