is your doppleganger, mini me,
that no one, I mean no one can see,
because he or she is imaginary.

Saving bad dates for multiple centuries:

  1. Ha, I like that one.

So it's like when someone calls off work saying, "I can't come. My Aunt Margaret's cat Snow Mittens is sick.", and there's no aunt or cat or snow or mittens? It's all just a load of bunburies.

  3. A bunbury is the most important thing to have in society. Life would be dull if you had to attend everything you were ever invited to, or sit through every boring conversation without relief.

    1. True, a bunbury can be quite helpful in a sticky situation, but telling the truth is good too...

      Thanks for visiting!

  4. Oh no! Your bunburies aren't supposed to pick on you. Perhaps it's the evil twin of your bunbury?

  5. So I guess you can't bury a bunbury, hmmm? I read these bun-buries can also be made of bread...puts a whole new twist in the bun... Very fun! My bunbury likes to sing loudly in the car :-)

    1. You could try to bury a bunbury, but I'm pretty sure they can rise from the dead. LOL. :)

  8. Ah, yes, Bunbury invented by Oscar Wilde in 'The Importance of being Earnest'. Lots of fun to be had with the idea.

    1. Yay! Someone knows the source. :) I still haven't read Oscar Wilde (shame on me!) but hope to some day. :)

  9. Rachel, I wanted to leave a comment for this post several weeks ago. Unfortunately my friend has been suffering from leprosy and I've been trying to visit him as much as possible. He lives in the country, and he doesn't get much of an internet signal.

    1. Your poor friend! Please do visit him. Being with friends in their time of need is much more important than leaving me a comment on my blog.
