To pronounce cacoepy
incorrectly would be
a verbal monstrosity -
habitually pronouncing words incorrectly
defines the essence of cacoepy.

    1. It is similar to a malaprop, but I believe malaprop describes misuse of a word (i.e. to describe the wrong thing) and a cacoepy is just mispronunciation. :)

  5. My daughter tends to do this with words she reads over the internet. She told me one day that she had heard that Lady Gaga was a "Herma-fry-dite."

And let's not even get into how she handled "FAQs."

    1. LOL. There are plenty of words I come across on the internet, but I usually preface any statement which will include them with, "I'm not sure I'm pronouncing this right..." :P
