Thursday Thoughts - On Hair Extensions and Buying Beauty

Strip and Sell Rapunzel

Rapunzel, Rapunzel,
Give me your hair!
Mine's so lifeless and dull -
You will look fine bare.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel,
What can you do?
Few things we want to cull
Grow on top of you.

Rapunzel, Rapunzel,
It will grow back.
Sans vanity, the skull
Is a shining shack!

Rapunzel, Rapunzel,
This costs a lot.
Your suff'ring I can't mull
While my joy is bought.

and the message one sends the world every time they buy one.

    1. Thank you, Rimly! I'm not in love with the title, but I'm pretty happy with the poem. :)

  2. Rachel, love it! Especially when I just went to have my sister's hair cut to donate to 'Locks of Love'. Thanks for sharing :)

    1. Thank you, Mary! I love 'Locks of Love'. I donated to them once, but usually I don't have quite enough hair for their requirements. I'm glad other charities have stepped in to take the shorter pony tails though. I think I will be donating another sometime in the next few months. :o)

    1. Not everyone has to be a donor and some are definitely deserving of donated locks. It is the ones who buy the REAL hair extensions for fun who should think twice. :)

  4. sorry, why is it in poor taste? Are people being forced to have their hair cut?

    1. In the most extreme cases, yes. There were some Russian prisoners... and some women are forced by their husbands...

  6. Rachel, you are so good at educating me! My hair is very unruly, so I would not want more of it, but have plenty of friends who love extensions. Never would have thought about this. Yikes!! Great job :-)

    1. I don't use extensions but hadn't thought they were a bad idea until I saw the news. I had to share and am glad you liked it. :)
