Wacky Word Wednesday - Cantrip

Cantrip
(can trip)

can trip you,
trick you,
put you under a spell,
and silence your yell.

It's magic used tragically,
slick witchy trickery -
like the apple Snow White nipped,
that one bite slip,
a deadly cantrip.

Every week I rhyme and define a new wacky word.
Come on over to indulge your inner nerd.
And, please let me know of any weird words you've heard.

  1. And here I thought a "Cantrip" was what you get if you wear shoes with no laces and always make sure to walk on smooth surfaces ;D

  2. I knew this from many early years playing D&D.

    1. I figured someone would. I didn't play D&D growing up but learned this word was used in the game while writing this poem. :)

Rhyming or not, I would like a lot to hear the thoughts my words brought...
