Would seeing Prince Charles with a butter tub ukulele
make you laugh and walk away or wish you could say hey?
I've never been fascinated with the Royal Family,
but thought this snap of him was super cute to see.
Usually seen acting so prim and proper,
his expression here could be a show stopper.
Also, the cause he's supporting is pretty dang cool.
I wish they'd done things like that when I was in school.

They aren't much but status symbols now
ReplyDeletePlus he probably only did that to get a wow
As most like that like the attention
Of a mere name mention
But you never know
Could have done it just to put on a show
This is so cool and fun.You know we at India sometimes make this instrument(ukuleles) even with coconut shells (imagine it).
ReplyDeleteSo is this project a remainder for us to make use of reusable items..lol..Prince Charles would have a wonderful time out there :D
@Pat - I think he gets enough mentions without trying, but to say he wasn't posing would be lying. :)
ReplyDelete@Uma - Ooooooh, I'd love to have a cocomut shell ukulele. I didn't know that was a popular musical instrument in India... or that you had ANY there really. Very cool. :)
Very amusing his expression is awesome!
ReplyDeletereusing the reusable is a good cause..love the sound of the ukulele
ReplyDeleteand nice verse
ReplyDeletesmiles.
Nice verse :)
ReplyDeleteThat picture really did make me laugh out loud! :-D I agree that it's a wonderful project though! Thanks for sharing this with us.
ReplyDelete@Brian - Pretty sound from recycling... what more could you ask for? :)
ReplyDelete@ayala - Thanks!
@dragonkatet - Hehe. I LOLed as well! :)
I like my ukelele so ?????
ReplyDeleteI need a princess
Standing to attention. Served Queen and Country. Proud of our British heritage. Even if our potential King is a bit of a fuddy duddy. Wasn't it George Formby that used to be in those old films playing the Ukulele. oh the pride of being British.
ReplyDeleteI'm not surprised that Prince Charles' picture inspired your very cute rhyme!
ReplyDeleteOnce again, I thoroughly enjoyed this!
I like the juxtaposition of the public persona we know and that which you attribute. Terrific.
ReplyDeleteCute rhyme and the look on his face made me smile. Dr. Seuss was my favorite author growing up and I loved introducing my son to him. Really like your blog:)
ReplyDeleteCharles does look funny. Its as if he is saying "Eeew look what I have got myself into". Lovely verse to match his expression!!1:)))

Your poems just make me feel good.
ReplyDelete@Alejandro - I don't have a ukulele (yet) but I sure love the sound.
ReplyDelete@Larry Lewis - Tour potential King doesn't look like a fuddy duddy here. You'll have to help him bring out that goofy side more. :)
@Bec Owen - I'm still a little surprised Prince Charles was goofy enough to inspire a rhyme! I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)
@Letters from Home - Thanks for visiting! I'm glad you enjoy the Seuss spirit!
@Rimly - Hehe. It is an awesome facial expression. :)
@M.A.S. - Your comment makes ME feel goood. :)
love the vision ....and in the UK Prince Charles is sometimes regarded as a bit of a weirdo, so watch our truly professional daily press ..who knows it may one day happen ...stranger things get reported. thanks once again for making me smile
ReplyDeleteThis is great - and I agree 'Charlie' looks good...
ReplyDelete@kez - Funny. I didn't know Prince Charles is regarded as a weirdo. I wish I had more time to read the newspaper. :)
ReplyDelete@Jo Bryant - Thanks for stopping by. :)
I do too.
ReplyDeleteReading this, I can't help but thinking of the time when my daughter was about four or so, and she must have gotten into the fridge while I was dozing off. I found a spoon in the sink with butter on it. Apparently, she had been eating butter straight from the tub. I nearly gagged.
ReplyDelete@boogiloo - Thanks for visiting!
ReplyDelete@Bryan - I know two adults that like the taste of straight butter. It totally creeps me out.
Tiny Tim where are you when we need you?
ReplyDeleteTiny Tim WOULD look quite cute with a teeny tiny butter tub eukulele. :)
