Doors and Windows Ramble

Doors and windows; windows and doors;
More exciting to look at than ceilings and floors.

Doors and windows; windows and doors;
Both often make excellent metaphors.

Doors and windows; windows and doors;
Amazingly good at drowning out snores.

Doors and windows; windows and doors;
Places known to gather mold spores.

Doors and windows; windows and doors;
Symbols of our "keeping up with the Jones" scores.

Doors and windows; windows and doors;
My studies taught me very little about yours.

This is my rhyming response to
Smiley Sociology Study #10.
It was inconclusive, so I made you
a silly random rhyme again.

  2. Definitely! No similarities betwen the 6 posts whatsoever. LOL. I guess I need at least 20 before that happens. Of course, Pat's poem may have had enough references for all 20 entries, but it's only supposed to count for one! :)

  5. Ah blow - I didn't get there in time :( I had it in my head, it went something like this:

    Windows and doors need lots of care
    if lock yourself out you'd wish they weren't there
    I would like to say that all of mine are doing pretty fine
    but the wind is blowing up hefty strong gales and the rain is making it fit only for whales
    which would be good if it takes off my windows and doors as the whales can get in without scratching the floors

    Happy weekend to you :D

  6. One of my favorite metaphors, door and windows. Loved this one Rachel.

  8. @sulekkha - Your rhyme is quite good. :)

    @SJ - Hehehe. Very cute. I don't think I can even fit a Marmaduke dog in my window, much less a whale... :)

    @Rimly - Thank you. Doors and windows are one of my favorite things to take pictures of... though I actually don't have many. I snap them when I travel. :)

  10. Love it! It reminded me of a walk I recently went on with my children. To get to a trail in town we have to walk down an old road with some abandoned warehouses (I know, sounds spooky, but it really isn't!) There's some intriguing old doors , paint uneven, fading and peeling..I took some pics...I love old doors and windows...and you're right, they make great metaphors too! :)
