A Seussical Soul
by Rachel Hoyt
I have a Seussical soul.
When I read Seuss I feel whole.
My imagination spews emulation,
I've a fascination with nameification,
And seek ideation and illumination,
While rhyming in timing,
Vocab-imbibeing,
And smiling
Soul.

DeleteI never even knew
ReplyDeleteBut the cat wishes him a happy birthday too
Seuss would enjoy your rhyme on rumpology. And, that's a reader that I'd like to see! LOL
DeleteHmmmm, I never even considered that Dr. Seuss would have a birthday :)
ReplyDeleteOnly famous people have birthdays after they are dead. Some of them even get national holidays! :P
DeleteTerrific, creative tribute to the one and only Dr. Seuss! Brilliant! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha. :)
DeleteGreat Seuss inspired poem, good times, there's a lot of wisdom hidden in his awesome rhymes :)
ReplyDeleteDr. Seuss was definitely not short on wisdom... or rhymes. :)
Deletenameification <-- Yep, had a feeling that spellcheck would call me on that one :D
ReplyDeleteBut of course! Had to use it though... My man Jack Donaghy from 30 Rock got me started using that word. :)
DeleteHappy birthday Dr. Seuss! You made me smile--but then so does he!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Audrey. I'm glad we could increase your glee! :)
DeleteSo wonderful, not at all blunder-full! Such a clever ruse to have written as Dr. Seuss!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you don't find "nameification" a blunder. Some day I believe it will be a world wide word wonder. :P

ReplyDeleteThank you, Kim! I actually wasn't following any poem form plan when I wrote it, but it sort of turned into a shape poem. Does it look like a heart to you? :)
DeleteWow, what a way to honor Dr. Seuss. I love the style of your blog. :-)

DeleteI LOVE IT! Dr. Seuss is one of the favorites around our house. I wish I grew up reading his books, but no matter - now that I have kids, I have an excuse to get all his books!

I still have quite a few I need to review and some that I've never read too, though I'm sad to admit that to you.
