Thursday Thoughts - Bank Executives' Salaries

The Wizard's Work

You see,
How it works is we
Do some magic math to show
That which our dreams already know -
We're fabulous and gaining ground,
Profits secure, salaries sound.

You're right,
There's been a slight
Trickle down delay in effect.
Our bonuses and stock shares reflect
All the same woes as those who wail
And our losses top the money scale.

You know,
Any One could go
Move to greener pastures for
That salary if you ignore
Their wizardly worth
For giving ideas girth.

Yeah sure,
We could conjure
A less selfish structure,
But the current culture would rupture.
Then how would jealousy motivate?
(Our potions for that aren't as great.)

    1. Here's hoping someone comes up with a counter potion soon. Where's the fairy godmother when you need her? :)

  3. I enjoyed this, Rachel; and you wrote this with such a 'straight face.' Very clever.

  4. I don't want to steal your shine
But, may I comment with a rhyme?
I think your message is right on time
but don't look up or you'll go blind

    To our sighs and cries,
    No one is listening
    You see, trickle down means
    they're too busy pissing.
    and admiring that amber glistening.

    :-) Good day to ya!
