Friday Fun Day - Crambo aka Bouts-Rimés

Surprise!  Let's try a new game...  Bouts Rimés means "rhymed ends" in French and is a game or challenge where one person (me) makes a list of rhymed words and others (you) write the lines that end with those rhymes, in the same order in which they were given.  It was known as Crambo in English and was quite popular in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries.  I think we need to bring back this hip historical habit, so I will post this game when I need a break from rhyming riddles and abstract photography.  I hope you enjoy the change of game!

Trouble
Bubble
Wonders
Blunders
Pop
Stop
Now write me a rhyme!
It's your turn this time.

I'll pick a winner early next week.
Be sure to come back and take a peek.

  1. Boss called for me,
    I'm in for Trouble.
    Bad social skills,
    I'm on the Bubble

    The other staff,
    really Wonders.
    What's the deal,
    with bodily Blunders.

    Don't they know,
    I love my Pop.
    And belching is fun,
    how can I Stop?

  2. On the horizon I see trouble
A double back to the last financial attack, a bursting bubble

Standing in the rubble, the thunder makes us wonder
What kind of disaster was this blunder?

The whole world went under when the bubble went pop
and now the fires 'ah burning and it's a blaze we can't stop

  3. I got my grass as I'm staying outta trouble

    Kickin' back
hittin' my bong, writin' this song
as I listen to it bubble n' bubble

Chillin', killin', gettin' this funny feelin'
    as I begin to wonder

All about the law and this prohibitionist blunder

Turnin' it in to one rhyme or another
as my grass goes crackle n' pop

    It's a green revolution rollin'
and ya know it ain't gonna stop!

    3. I was hoping too! I'd like to see Bubba swing by and put up one. I read a number of poems written by the SaraV that comments here occasionally, I imagine she would make something nice out of this too.

    4. I know! Me too!! I don't have all of their emails, but I think they would like the game. I'm going to share it in a few more places to try to get it where they will see it. I'm sure they'll find it eventually. Right now they are only addicted to Wacky Word Wednesday, but we will get them! :P

  4. Friday has passed, i hope its no trouble
But a snap of my pop
And a chew of double bubble

I sit with my wonders n ponder these thoughts
what makes these lines so popa de pop
    is it or capital letters
    or something much better?
of course i have tried to batch up a match
    With slip up and blunders
    odd worlds from down under
But its six silly words you write in the lines
Six silly words that fly through my mind
And six silly words you keep tweeting like birds
And six silly wait, STOP! Now iv used all the words

    2. Follow the rules or you'll be in trouble
It's clear that pop doesn't come before bubble

The reason to your rhyme makes me wonder
but I wouldn't call it any kind of blunder

I know too, how it goes, once the lines pop
the rhymes begin to flow and it just don't stop

  5. the Trouble with Bubbles
    as with any Wonders
    is that in our Blunders
    they Pop

and what are we left with
    but a cold Stop,
and the need to find a washclothe
    to wipe off the remnants

Rhyming or not, I would like a lot to hear the thoughts my words brought...
