There is a thing called vim,
A force that lives within,
A vigor never dim,
The opposite of grim,
A lively whim,

Every week I rhyme and define a new wacky word.
Come on over to indulge your inner nerd.
And, please let me know of any weird words you've heard.
Cool I love this ....vim use to be a cleaning liquid in the UK but I have never heard yim before ..thanks !
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing him is the cleaning liquid? I hadn't heard of vim until recently, but I saw it in a poem the next week. :)
DeleteLOL. My phone seems to have changed yim to him on a whim. :)
DeleteSurely energy here
ReplyDeleteThat comes far and near
As the cat rhymes away
Just like at your bay
There's definitely energy at your bay
Deleteand lots of rhyming every day. :)
Another great word, I could definitely do with some more vim today, I think I need another cup of tea:)
ReplyDeleteDo they make vim tea? That would be awesome. :P
DeleteThus the expression,"full of vim and vigor".
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am. :)
DeleteI was going to mention "vim and vigor" and then Jan beat me to it.
ReplyDelete>:(
I suppose I could have mentioned it in the post so you all wouldn't have had to fight over it. :)
ReplyDeleteI love your witty ditties about words so weird and obscure. :-)

Thank you, Tameka. I hope the ditties help the meaning stick in your brain. :)
DeleteHello Rachel.
ReplyDeleteI've not heard that word before, but my Assistant pointed out there's a fizzy drink in the UK called Vimto. wonder if they're related? Thanks for sharing.
Day 4: Dialogue Of Romance
I'm guessing whoever named Vimto knew the meaning of vim. I'll have to look for that drink next time I travel. :)
Deleteit is also the sound my car makes...vim vim...haha...i have heard vim and vigor before...
ReplyDeleteLOL. Your car has class! Mine only says vroom. :)
DeleteI'm not sure I had ever heard that word before! A great little word!
ReplyDeleteI remembered the phrase full of vim and vigor, but hadn't even heard that in years... so I'm trying to bring it back. :)
DeleteAnother great find!
ReplyDeleteThanks! More fun next week. :)
DeleteI've heard this word before, but it's not one of those words that stick .. you know like chocolate etc.
ReplyDeleteI definitely know what you mean, Debbie. :)
DeleteGreat fun! I feel energized already. :)
ReplyDeleteHooray! :) Thanks for visiting.
DeleteVim is also a cleaner (powdered stuff to scrub pots and pans, making them shiny). So I guess it's energizing even to inanimate objects...interesting word and thoughts.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I really enjoyed your fun fact... energizing even to intimate objects. :-)
