I apologize for over using OMG and LOL.
They added them to OED.  What the hell?!
I should call my BFF to see what she thinks.
I feel expanding use of initialisms totally stinks.
I remember scoffing at the first uses of  "PC".
I guess that's the "I don't like changes" in me.
There are a few initialisms I use just for fun,
but I fear the formation of a new language has begun.
But really, what's a modern gal supposed to do?
I, personally, cave in eventually. i.e. using TTYL2.

The image above was a photo prompt from the Poetry Tow Truck I did for fun.
Come on over to see the interpretations of the various photos by everyone.

  1. LMBOWEC (Laughing My Butt Off While Eating Chips) My daughter came up with that one.

  2. Haha. I like that one! It's more fun when only insiders know what they mean. :)

  3. oh Rachel, that was just too cute! And I can relate 100%! It's pretty embarrassing to have to ask your teenage child what a text means :)

  4. It takes me a while to figure the initialisms out... nice word btw.

  5. OMFG= oh my freakin god....LOLOLOL...As always...XOXOXO

  6. @Mary - Thanks! It's embarrasing for me that my dad knows and has made up more of these initialisms than I have. (He texts with my cousins. Hehe.)

@Alejandro - I like the word too! I thank whoever wrote the article I linked to for teaching it to me. :)

    @Bongo - I'm glad I gave you a good laugh! :)

  7. Another fun one! And thanks so much for participating in my latest Limerick-Off!

  8. @Linda - LOL. I hope you didn't hurt yourself when you FOYHL. :)

@Madeline - Thanks! I just posted the limerick here on the blog. I had fun with the prompt, as always. :)

  9. Ah, I get so confused with these. Only last month I figured out what LMAO means. LoL.

    But I do like xoxoxo.

    LOL (Lots of Love)

Rhyming or not, I would like a lot to hear the thoughts my words brought...
