Something Grown
by Rachel Hoyt
A field full looks like rainbows -
one of Mother Nature's very best shows.
Their Asiatic origin, I bet no one knows,
because that isn't where the bulk today grows.

Friday Photo Fun is when I share a randomly captured
moment,
or perhaps a
photo experiment with more purposeful intent,
then pair it with a rhyming riddle to exercise your mind
and teach you more weird facts to which you once were blind.

After the
answer is guessed, I will post a second, non-abstract photo,
and just in
case you wanted to know,
the first is
not a photoshopped version of the second -
they're shot
using different techniques that to me beckon
Andy (the romantic poet) found the answer rolled off his lips.
This week's abstractified object is tulips!

Awhhhh Rachel...you always have me stumped...I immediately thought of sunflowers or african daisies...but then your rhyme threw me off. Who knows? It could be anything 'yellow' at this point LOL.
ReplyDeleteTwo of my other favorite flowers. :-) close, but not correct.
DeletePoppies!
ReplyDeleteEven closer! But, no... I haven't made it to the poppy photo spot yet. :-)
DeleteOranges
ReplyDeleteNo, the ladies' guesses were closer. It is a type of flower. :-) thanks for guessing! :-)
DeleteHello Rachel.
ReplyDeleteI would have guessed pumpkins, but then you said it was a type of flower, so I'm going with tulips.
That's it! Good job Andy. :) Tulips have been one of my favorites every since the day I flew into Amsterdam and felt like I flew over a rainbow. :)
DeleteRachel,
DeleteI love flowers. Half the time I haven't got a clue of the names, but tulips are among some of my wife's favorites too. I can't believe I got it right! <3
I have limited knowledge of the names of the flowers...daisies??
ReplyDeleteGood guess, janaki, but no... it was tulips. :) I'll post the "answer" picture later.
DeleteFor a sec, I thought you were saying he had it right with "pumpkins", then...you know...I kept reading ;D
ReplyDeleteI probably would have guessed that, since there's a limited number of flowers that I actually know. Maybe I would have said "daisy" first. I guess I was just slow on the draw today.
Hehe. Nope, no pumkins around right now. :) I do love daisies... in case you all couldn't tell from my logo & background. :)
DeleteFooled me again, Rachel. I never would have guessed tulips. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't see this color daisy often, that is for sure. :) Thanks for stopping by! :)
Deletegood one... loved the clue! Congratulations Andy... :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Amy! I'm so glad you liked the riddle. :)
DeleteAnother interesting moment and as usual I guessed wrong LOL Thanks for sharing!!

As long as you enjoyed reading the guesses, my work is done. :) :) :) I bet you'll be right some week...
DeleteI thought tulips too but too late I guess! They line many of the yards up and down our road. We love to look at them when we go for walks. I love how you always challenge all of us! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI initially thought it was a sunflower! Ahh tulips. Such beautiful flowers! Cheers! I always love coming here. :-)
