Sunday Fun Day - Rock Eating Limerick

Rockin' Taste
by Rachel Hoyt

A woman who tried to persuade
her taste buds not to feel betrayed,
said, "Rocks taste earthy
and crispy crunchy.
They're the best free snack nature made!"

This rhyme was written for Mad-Kane's Limerick-Off,
where the humor will make you giggle and snicker, not scoff,
and inspired by the news linked to above and right here
about a woman who eats whatever rocks lie near.

  1. LOL! Good one, Rachel! Reminded me of how much my granddaughter loves to play with rocks; good thing she doesn't try to eat them! :)

  4. Rocks are one of my favorite things, eating them is another matter. Although; if I wanted to be, "solid as a rock", it might be a good idea.

  6. I don't know if the expression exists in English, but in my country we have two expressions about eating rocks. First one meaning a person who has no preferences in food and who would eat anything, and the second is to describe someone who has a lot of sufferings in life.

    1. In my country we have the saying 'dumber than a box of rocks'. I think your country's sayings and ours describe it pretty well. :)
